Parent-Child Interaction Therapy

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is an evidence-based treatment designed for young children, typically ages 2 to 7, who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, or social difficulties. PCIT is unique because it actively involves both the parent and child during therapy sessions, helping caregivers develop effective parenting skills while strengthening the parent-child relationship.

Parent-Child Interaction

Through live coaching provided by a trained therapist, parents learn practical strategies to improve communication, increase positive behaviors, set healthy limits, and respond consistently to challenging behaviors. As the parent-child relationship grows stronger, children often develop better emotional regulation, improved self-esteem, greater compliance, and healthier social skills. PCIT has been shown to be highly effective for concerns such as tantrums, defiance, aggression, ADHD-related behaviors, anxiety, and difficulties following life changes or stressful experiences.

At Tree of Life Counseling, our goal is to empower parents with the confidence and tools needed to foster a stronger, more connected relationship with their child while creating lasting positive change for the entire family.
